We believe that by ending double taxation and making all taxes personal, the dialogue on personal taxes will become more transparent and more more meaningful. The tax code is too complex to keep most indiviudals' interest or attention. By reducing tax complexity and bringing tax discussions "closer to home" we believe individuals will have the incentive to contribute to the debate and, more importantly, to manage all their finances with greater personal stake. We believe this, in turn, will encourage savings and investment, particularly in stocks, which have been battered recently and which make up the bulk of 401(k), IRA, 529, and other savings.
